So Excited....I Ain't Hidin' It!

Different people express their obsessions in different ways. Here's mine:

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW MOON MOVIE TO COME OUT ON NOVEMBER 20TH! TALK ABOUT SERIOUS EYE-CANDY!

There. I said it. I'm good now.

FLU SEASON, What Do You Do, Or Not Do?

About 2 weeks ago I got my flu shot. I was at an interpreting appointment when my client decided to get a flu shot. I went back with her to interpret and the funny nurse turned to me and asked if I had gotten my shot yet. I told her no and went on with interpreting, though the nurse just stood there and gave me this dirty look and said that I needed to get my butt back in there after I was done "doing my job" and get a flu shot. I didn't get one last year (yes, I know that diabetics are considered to be in the priority group, but I still didn't get one) and decided I would go ahead and get one.

So lo and behold about 10 days later I got the flu, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was miserable. I was dizzy, feverish, coughing, headachey (new word!), lacking ANY energy, blood sugar all out of control 5 shades of crazy sick! It wasn't your run-of-the-mill 24 hour bug. This beast lasted 4 entire days. This is that miss2daysofworksickovertheweekend kind of flu.

This happened a COUPLE of times this past year because of having the boys and those annoying people that bring their kids or themselves to church to share their "love", or GERMS! I can't stand it when people come to church because they don't want to "miss" a Sunday, yet they are sharing just about every other unnecessary thing as well!

Climbing down from my soap box, my question is this: Do any of y'all get your flu shots and get sick, or not get flu shots and STILL get sick? Is it one of those things that you're "danged if ya do, and danged if ya don't" sort of things? What do y'all think?

Rainy Days, Cooler Weather

The last week or so we have had some cooler temperatures as well as warm ones. I have been thrilled with this! I was all over getting dressed for work in a new long sleeved sweater this last Tuesday in order to go to work. I had the opportunity to do that a couple of times this week. When not working, I was in long sleeves and comfy jeans! In years past I have vehemently decried any appearance of cool weather, but this year the coolness in the air is a welcome feeling. Last weekend when Brandon and I went up to the Wolf Creek resort for a belated celebration of our 5 year anniversary, the weather was a little cooler than usual and absolutely beautiful! This little fox was our personal greeter at the registration office where we checked in to our condo! He was so tame it was amazing.

This was one of 2 possibilities in real estate in the Eden, UT area.
This is the house in Huntsville, UT where President David O. McKay grew up. Beautiful.
This craftsman style home was also in Huntsville, and was equivalent to our dream home. I might have changed the colors a bit, and the front door stained glass window was gorgeous.

This is the 2nd option for affordable real estate in Huntsville, UT. Horses as our room mates included.
There was NO option not to eat here once we found it. The owners are originally from Austin (not NEARLY as cool as Houston) but the food was pretty good. Oh, this was in "downtown" Huntsville which is across the lake from where we stayed in Eden, UT.
This pretty much explains my opinion of pickles in general... they are a complete waste of dirt!
The waterfall at the mouth of Ogden Canyon. Pretty but unfortunately not a natrual one. (See below)
The waterfall sits to the right of this pipeline that ever so eerily hangs above the road which enters the canyon.
My golf-pro of a husband playing some gold at the Mount Ogden golf course.
Texan driver behind the wheel of the golf cart. I drove it like it was a rental car.

Mountains with fall colors somewhere above Eden.

We went on a hike that was right below the Snow Basin Resort and saw all kinds of pretty fall colors!

The trail where we hiked for nearly 5 miles total. The weather was beautiful and perfect for a picnic!
